New House Church

A couple of weeks ago the Trianon House Church (of Storyline) had what we call a sending ceremony.  The sending ceremony happens whenever we are ready to send people out to start a new house church.  In our gathering we spent time sharing why our house church and the people that make it up have blessed us over the time we have been together.  It was special to get to hear people tell stories of how God has been at work in their lives through this community.  It was a great way to frame up the importance of what we are doing and why we need to share it with other people.  We then let the three people who will lead and host the new house church share their hopes and fears of starting a new house church.  It was awesome to hear one of them say how they looked forward to the time when a new person they connect with will be ready to be sent out to start another house church.  It was a special and meaningful moment to be part of.  Please pray for the Victor Street house church – that God would connect them to other people who need to be part of a community of faith.

As a part of that transition, Amy and I are stepping in to begin leading the Trianon house church (this is the one we have been part of since February).  I am looking forward to working with our church to build up and re-organize our house church team after sending out three people who contributed so much while they were with us.  Thanks to Patrick, Lauren, and Deborah for all they have done for the Trianon house church.
